This vessel is made with dark brown stoneware with a raw outer body and a clear glazed inner body. The contorted, misshapen, and blob-like structure of the piece depicts the figure of the fetal position in a womb. The comfort of being curled up like a baby, whether as a child or as an adult, held and nurtured, is a universal form of the portal we got here in. This abstract representation of the shape any animal is found in when being born becomes a position of comfort and survival. As adults this position is soft, vulnerable, and focuses the energy toward self. It is self soothing and reminicent of a primal safe space.
